According to Women’s Audio Mission,
- Fewer than 5% of the people creating the sounds, music, and media in the daily soundtrack of our lives are women or gender-expansive individuals
- There has been an alarming 70% decline in women/gender-expansive students enrolling in college STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) programs since the year 2000.
In our own small way, RadHaus Studios is working to counteract this. We are a woman-owned and operated studio (female, female identifying, and non-binary), and encourage young women to learn audio and video technology in a safe and nurturing environment.
We hope that our staff and interns grow accustomed to this environment, and use it as a template if and when they move on to other studios and work situations, and with the strength of experience are able to establish new standards for behavior within the industry.
